Beltway Visa and Passport can provide prompt, professional and expedited visa services at the Brazilian Consulate in Washington, D.C.  Our experienced visa agents will give your application the special attention it deserves, discuss any problems with a Consulate officer and contact you directly to follow up.  We offer FREE pickup and delivery of your application materials in the Washington, D.C. Metro area.  Beltway Visa and Passport can secure your visa in a matter of days while the normal application procedure with the Embassy can take weeks.  However, we charge an expedited processing fee for our services (see prices below).  You always have the option of the lengthier, free processing procedure with the Embassy, where you only pay for the visa itself.  If you choose this option you should go to the Embassy’s website at:  www.washington.itamaraty.gov.br If you choose our expedited processing keep reading!  Follow the procedures below for the type of visa you need and ship to us for prompt service.

 

*****IMPORTANT NOTICE*****

The Brazilian Embassy in Washington, D.C. will only accept applications for those applicants residing within their jurisdiction.  Those states include: Washington, D.C., Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio and all American military bases besides Guam.  The Embassy will not accept non-jurisdictional submissions!

 

Brazil Tourist Visa Requirements

1. Brazil Visa Application Form

You must fill out your application completely on the Embassy of Brazil’s website:  www.washington.itamaraty.gov.br   Click on the British flag under Visa request to access the English version.  When you have completed the form, please print.  The printed form will have a barcode that the embassy will scan to access your information.  Be sure to sign your application within the box as indicated!

2. U.S. Passport

Provide your valid, signed passport.  Your passport should be valid for 6 months beyond your stay and have two adjacent blank pages available for the consulate to affix a visa.

3. Photograph

Please provide one (1) color passport sized (2” x 2”) photo.  They must have a white background, be on photo paper and be taken in the last six months.

4. Letter of Invitation

If your visa application form mentions “visiting friends”, please provide a notarized letter of invitation from your host in Brazil.

5. Itinerary

Provide a copy of your round trip airline tickets or a letter from your travel agent confirming that round trip tickets will be purchased.  Your itinerary must show the ticket numbers OR state that the tickets have been paid for.

6. Traveler Identification

Please provide a copy of driver’s license or state issued ID as proof of residency.

      *****Additional Requirements for Minors (under age 18) *****

1. Notarized Copy of Birth Certificate

2. Parental Consent Letter

In the event of an absent parent(s), a notarized letter of parental consent bust be provided, authorizing the Consulate General of Brazil to issue a visa.  The letter must be signed by the absent parent(s) or guardian(s).

3. Travel Authorization for Minors Form

This form must be notarized and provided for all applicants under the age of 18 who are either traveling alone or in the company of only one parent.  The minor will not be allowed to depart Brazil without the authorization of the absent parent(s).

Brazil Business Visa Requirements

4. Business letter of Introduction

You will need a business letter from your company on company letterhead stating the purpose of travel.  This letter must state that the traveler “is going to Brazil for meetings and discussion only and no technical work will be performed.”  The letter must explain in detail the topic and purpose for these discussions and meetings.  Also provide the name and contact information for a representative of the company you will be visiting in Brazil.  Your company must also provide a financial guarantee of your expenses while you will be in Brazil.

5. Letter of Invitation

Provide a NOTARIZED letter of invitation from the company you will be visiting in Brazil.  The letter must be on their company letterhead.

6. Travel Itinerary

Additional Information

Vaccinations-Currently no vaccinations are required to enter Brazil from any country. However, yellow fever vaccination is recommended.  Please see Brazil’s website for additional information.

-Passports and/or replacing documents must be valid for period of intended stay in Brazil.

-All visitors must hold sufficient funds for their stay in Brazil

-All visitors must hold a return or onward ticket and all documents required for their next destination.

-An extension of stay is possible for those who are visa exempt.

-A passenger may enter with a valid visa in an expired passport provided it is accompanied by a valid passport of the same nationality.

-Passengers arriving with incorrect documentation will be deported back to the country of origin at the carrier’s expense.  Moreover, the carrier will have to pay the detention costs and a fine of USD $2,000.
