China Tourist Visa Requirements

 1. China Visa Application Form

The Chinese Embassy requires that all applications for Chinese Visas submitted in the U.S. be typed.  Hand written applications will not be accepted.  The Visa application form V2013 is available online at:  www.china-embassy.org   We suggest going straight to the embassy’s website since any recent changes to the application will be included on their form.  When done completing the form, please print it.  Be sure to sign and date!  Also, please do not make hand written corrections.  This will cause the application to be rejected.

2. U.S. Passport

Provide your valid, signed passport.  Your passport should be valid for six months beyond your stay and have two adjacent blank pages available so the consulate can affix a visa.

 3. Photographs

Include two (2) color passport sized (2” x 2”) photos.  They must have a white background, be on photo paper and be taken in the last six months.

 4. Personal Invitation

If you are visiting friends or family, please provide a letter of invitation from your host in China.  The letter needs to contain personal information of the applicant, the inviting party and details of the visit.

5. Travel Itinerary

Provide a copy of your airline ticket or travel itinerary showing your name as well as the flight details.

 6. Traveler Identification

Provide a copy of your driver’s license, state issued ID, or major utility bill showing the applicant’s name and current address.

****Former Chinese citizens must provide a copy of former Chinese or Taiwanese passport or photocopies of previous Chinese visas in current or old U.S. passport.  If the traveler does not have the old Chinese passport, the Consulate will accept a copy of a birth certificate or U.S. Naturalization certificate.

 

China Business Visa Requirements

Provide a letter of introduction from your company or organization on company letterhead.  The letter should be addressed to the Embassy of China and state the purpose of travel, give the name and contact information for the company you will be visiting, list the dates of travel and provide a financial guarantee of expenses while in China.  Your letter and your application must state must specify the type of visa desired (single, double or multiple entry) as well as the length (six months or 1 year.)

 4. Letter of Invitation

Additional Information

Vaccinations-Currently no vaccinations are required to enter China from any other country.  However, Malaria vaccinations are recommended.

-Passports or replacing documents must be valid on arrival

– Valid visas in an expired passport will be accepted provided a valid passport of the same nationality accompanies it.

-At the Consular officer’s discretion, different passport validity may be required when applying for a visa.

-Travel on a one-way ticket is accepted provided the traveler has proof of sufficient funds and all required documents regarding further destination.
