U.S. citizens have the option of obtaining a visa on arrival in Kenya.  Travelers should be prepared to wait in line at immigration, provide proof of return or onward travel and evidence of sufficient funds to cover their stay in Kenya.   They will need to pay a $50 USD visa fee and will be issued a 90 day visa.

 

Kenya Tourist Visa Requirements

1. Kenya Visa Application

We ask that you go directly to the Embassy of Kenya website for the most up to date application form:  www.kenyaembassy.com    From the visa instruction page, follow the “Continue with Online Application” link at the bottom of the instructions.  Please fill out the application completely, print and sign.

2. U.S. Passport

Provide your valid, signed passport.  Your passport should be valid for six months beyond your stay and have two adjacent blank pages available for the Consulate to affix a visa.

3. Photographs

Provide two (2) color, passport sized photos.  The photo must be on photo paper, be 2” x 2”, and have a white background.  The photo must have been taken in the last six months.

4. Travel Itinerary

Provide a copy of your airline ticket or travel agent itinerary.

Kenya Business Visa Requirements

1. Kenya Visa Application

2. U.S. Passport

3. Photograph

Provide two (2) color, passport sized photos.  The photo must be on photo paper, be 2” by 2” and have a white background.  The photo must have been taken in the last six months.

4. Letter of Introduction

Provide a business letter of introduction from your employer on company letterhead.  The letter should be addressed to the Embassy of Kenya and state the purpose of travel as well as provide contact name and information at the company you will be visiting in Kenya.  The letter should also provide a financial guarantee of expenses while in Kenya.

5. Travel Itinerary

Provide a copy of your airline ticket or travel agent itinerary.

Additional Information

-Passports and/or replacing documents should be valid for at least six months on arrival.

-Minors (age 16 and under) traveling alone have special requirements.  Please contact us for details.

-Minors traveling the passport of a parent will have special requirements.  Please contact us for details.

-Passports and/or replacing documents not in good condition will be rejected.

-All visitors must hold return/onward tickets and all documents required for their next destination.  They must also have sufficient funds of $500 USD while in Kenya

Vaccination Information

-Yellow fever vaccination required for passengers arriving in Kenya within six days after departing or transiting through countries with infected areas.

-Those exempt from Yellow Fever vaccination include children under 1 year, those not leaving the airport in countries with infected areas and those not leaving the airport in Kenya.

-If Yellow Fever vaccination is required, those unable to produce certificates may be subject to quarantine.

-Yellow Fever vaccination is also recommended for those traveling outside of main cities in Kenya.

-Malaria prophylaxis is recommended for all travelers.

Please ship to us by a means that is traceable.  We suggest FedEx, UPS or Express Mail.  It is not advisable to send your passport or vital records through regular service via the U.S. Postal Service.
