Beltway Visa and Passport can provide prompt, professional and expedited visa services at the Russian Consulate in Washington, D.C.  Our experienced visa agents will give your application the special attention it deserves, discuss any problems with the Consulate officer and contact you directly to follow up.  We offer FREE pickup and delivery of your application materials in the Washington, D.C. Metro area.  Beltway Visa and Passport can secure your visa in a matter of days while the normal application procedure with the Embassy can take weeks.  However, we charge an expedited processing fee for our services (see prices below.)  You always have the option of the lengthier, free processing procedure with the Embassy, where you only pay for the visa itself.  The Russian Embassy uses a third party to process for the Embassy, ILS.  If you choose this option you should go directly to the ILS website at:  www.ils-usa.com  If you choose our expedited processing keep reading!  Follow the procedures below for the type of visa you need and ship to us for prompt service.

 

*****IMPORTANT NOTICE*****

The Russian Embassy in Washington, D.C. will only accept applications for those applicants residing within their jurisdiction.  Those states include:  the District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, West Virginia and Puerto Rico.  The Russian Embassy no longer accepts non-jurisdictional submissions!

Russian tourist visa applications are only accepted within 90 days of proposed entry to Russia.  Russian business visa applications are only accepted within 45 days of proposed entry.
Russia Tourist Visa Requirements

1. Russia Visa Application Form

The Russian Embassy requires that all applications submitted in the U.S. be prepared using the Electronic Visa Application Form which is a web based application.  The form is available online at the Russian government sponsored site:  www.ils-usa.com.   After filling in the visa application form online, applicants must print, sign and date the form.  Please do not attempt to make corrections by hand.  The application will be rejected.  If an error is made the application must be started again online.

2. U.S. Passport

Provide your valid, signed passport.  Your passport should be valid for 6 months beyond your stay and have two adjacent blank pages available for the consulate to affix a visa.

3. Photograph

Please provide one (1) color passport sized (2”x 2”) photo.  It must have a white background, be on photo paper and be taken in the last 6 months.  Please do not staple or glue the photo to the visa application.

4. Tourist Confirmation and Voucher

You will need a standard tourist confirmation and a voucher with voucher confirmation, issued from your hotel or a Russian travel agency that is registered with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  Your visa cannot be approved without this invitation from an agency recognized by the Russian government!

5. Itinerary

Provide a copy of your airline ticket or travel agent itinerary.

Russia Business Visa Requirements

5. Business letter of introduction

You will need a letter of introduction from your company on company letterhead.  The letter should be addressed to the Embassy of Russia, state the purpose of travel as well as the name and contact information for the company you will be visiting in Russia.  The letter must provide a financial guarantee of all your expenses while in Russia.

6. Letter of Invitation

Your host organization in Russia will need to provide an official letter of invitation approved by the Russian Ministry of Interior or the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or a Telex number with the name of the inviting organization.  This letter must be an original, no copies will be accepted.

7. Travel Itinerary

Provide a copy of your airline ticket or travel agent itinerary.

Additional Information

-Additional requirements for applicants born in the former USSR or Russia:

 

1)  Certificate of Renunciation of Citizenship from the Russian Embassy

 

2)  Evidence of Emigration-copy of old passport and stamps showing the date of emigration.  If you no longer have your old passport you must explain exactly what happened to it in a personal letter. (See next step, #3)

 

3)  The applicant must write a personal letter, addressed to the Embassy of Russia, explaining route and date of emigration. The letter must include a declaration that you do not hold Russian citizenship.

-Passports or replacing documents must be valid on arrival

-Passengers are required to hold return or onward tickets and documents required for their next destination

-All passengers must hold an Immigrant Card which is obtained free of charge while on board or on arrival.  Passengers staying in Russia more than 3 days must register their Immigrant Card and visas through their hotel or sponsor.

-Passengers visiting relatives must register with local police upon arrival and have the registration entered in their visa.  If staying at a hotel, the hotel will arrange this.

-Passengers are required to have health insurance or travel insurance that will cover medical expenses

-Valid visas in expired passports or other expired travel documents are not accepted.

Vaccinations-None are currently required to enter Russia from any other country
