Vietnam Tourist Visa Requirements

 1. Vietnam Visa  Application

All Vietnam Visa applications submitted in the U.S. must be typed.  Hand written applications will no longer be accepted.  Complete the online application from the Vietnam Embassy website:  www.vietnamembassy-usa.org  It is important to go directly to the Embassy’s website to get the most recent version of the application.  Please fill out the application completely, then print and sign.  Your full name on the application should appear the same as it does on your passport.  Where it asks for place of visa application and submission, please select Vietnam Embassy in the U.S.A. (Washington, D.C.)  

 2. U.S. Passport

Provide your valid, signed passport.  Your passport should be valid for six months beyond your stay and have two adjacent blank pages available for the Consulate to affix a visa.

 3. Photograph

Please provide one (1) color passport sized (2” x 2”) photo.  They must have a white background, be on photo paper and be taken in the last six months.

 4. Travel Itinerary

Please provide a copy of your airline tickets or travel agent itinerary.  Please be sure that the dates are accurate since the valid dates on your visa will be based on the information you provide.

Vietnam Business Visa Requirements

1. Vietnam Visa Application Form

2. U.S. Passport

4. Business Letter of Introduction

Provide a business letter of introduction from your company, on company letterhead.  The letter should be addressed to the Embassy of Vietnam and state the purpose of travel.  Give the name and contact person at the company you will be visiting in Vietnam.  Your company must also provide a financial guarantee of all of your expenses while in Vietnam.

 5. Travel Itinerary

Additional Information

-Passports and/or replacing documents must be valid for six months after the date of arrival

-Passports are required to be valid for at least one month after date of expiration of visa

-A visa is required except for holders of a Certificate of Visa Exemption for former nationals of Vietnam residing abroad.

-Visa On Arrival (VOA) is available for Vietnam.  You must hold a letter from Vietnamese Immigration confirming that the visa will be issued on arrival.  You must secure this letter before departing the U.S. and you will be required to wait in the immigration line upon arrival in Vietnam.  For more details on this option, please visit the embassy website at www.vietnamembassy-usa.org

-All visitors must hold documents required for the next destination

-All visitors must have proof of sufficient funds for their stay in Vietnam

-All visitors not requiring a visa for Vietnam must hold a return or onward ticket

-Yellow fever vaccination is required if arriving within 6 days after leaving or transiting through an infected area.  Children under 1 year and passengers not leaving the airport are exempted.

-Malaria vaccination is recommended.

Please ship to us by a means that is traceable.  We suggest FedEx, UPS or Express Mail.  It is not advisable to send your passport or vital records through regular service via the U.S. Postal Service.
